Happy by Design: An Experiment in Sharing & Spreading Happiness
Whether it’s about bricks & mortar, or connection & creation, Scott Simon is passionate about building and transforming community.
Scott is president of North Pointe Realty, a Cleveland-based commercial real estate development, construction and management firm, and co-founder of [thrive], a Cleveland-based social venture.

Scott’s passion for community growth, productivity and well-being was sparked by a chance attendance of a seminar featuring Harvard professor Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, widely respected as one of the world’s authorities on the science of happiness. Scott is now earning a Certificate in Positive Psychology conducted by Dr. Ben-Shahar.
Scott earned his B.A. from Skidmore College, M.N.O. from Case Western Reserve University, Certificate in Real Estate Development and Finance from Cleveland State University, and engaged in continuing education in real estate at Harvard University.
Scott is board chair of Shoes and Clothes for Kids, vice president of the Agnon School, trustee of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, participant in the two-year Wexner Heritage Leadership program, and was a former charter class member and trustee of Cleveland Bridge Builders. Scott has won several leadership awards, and was named one of Crains’ Cleveland Business’s “40 under 40.”
Scott ‘s greatest achievement – by far – is as proud parent of son Noah (12) and daughter Teilah (10). In his spare time he boxes, practices power yoga, seeks out great restaurants far and wide, and dreams of one day surfing by day and cooking dinner on a Costa Rican beach by night.
