About Michael Ruhlman
Michael Ruhlman is an award-winning, New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and cook. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Gourmet, Saveur , and Food Arts . He has written seven works of non-fiction: Boys Themselves, The Making of a Chef, The Soul of a Chef, The Reach of a Chef, Wooden Boats , and Walk On Water , all works of participatory observation, as well as House: A Memoir , about the purchase and renovation of a century-old Cleveland Heights monster that’s also an exploration of the importance of house and home in this country of vagabonds. His most recent books are Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking , Ad Hoc at Home , as well as Live To Cook, a book he wrote with Cleveland chef, Michael Symon, all published last year. He was a judge on the culinary reality show Cooking Under Fire produced by WGBH in Boston and The Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef .
